Racist tirades against Obama

It looked so promising in 2008

Those who followed my blog in 2008, knew how excited I was about Obama's victory at the 2008 Presidential election. I remember how closely I followed the whole campaign since 2007. Obama particularly caught my attention by that time, I had the feeling that he may go really far. And man, he really went further than my wildest expectations. His speeches gave me goosebumps and sometimes they still do. I won't ever forget that night and his speech in Chicago. in front of thousands of people, knowing that he will be the next president of the United States. It was about 4am in the morning, when I watched that speech live on CNN and I won't ever forget that moment, when Jesse Jackson cried. I guess I was moved a little, too, even though I'm not American. I think there probably wasn't a single African American, who wasn't somehow touched that night. But this was beyond America, the whole world was amazed by what just happened in that moment.

And then 2 years later at the midterm elections, Obama and the Democrats lose their majority in the Congress and the general mood in the country seems anti-Obama. And there seems to be a small but loud group of people, who think it's OK to voice racist comments. I read this article on Yahoo! News (this is just a snippet):

Since the expectations were so high in 2008, Obama couldn't possibly meet them. 2 years are too short for a decade of wrong decisions and failed policies. But well, everyone expects super things from Superman, right? Even though I admire Obama and support most of his policies, I can understand that some Americans are disappointed. But what I don't understand is the disgusting racism against Obama, that seems to be OK now, almost mainstream (I'm talking about online). I remember, when everyone ridiculed the birthers and the tea party a year ago, but now they're getting elected! Now they're mainstream. Same was with the racists: They seemed to be totally nonexistent in 2008 (with few exceptions), now it seems they can spew out their hate against Obama and even get applause from a lot of people (especially online). If you read any article about Obama on Yahoo! News these days, I guarantee you, that you'll come across a lot of flat out racist comments (accompanied with many "likes"). Let me show you some comments on the article above (published a day after Obama lost the midterm elections. I highlighted the worst parts):

Since I'm not American and my impressions about the current situation in America base on what I see on TV or read online, I wonder: Is it really so bad? Judging by the comments on Yahoo! News, America is ruled by an "African born Muslim who is an anti American racist, that can't run the country and needs to be imprisoned, if not executed". That's scary. How can someone in their mind really believe such things? Or am I making too much of it?

What I'm reading these days is a total opposite of what I was reading in 2008. America, what happened? Hope my American followers can enlighten me on this. But please, explain to me why are there more and more racist comments online on Obama. Or is my impression completely wrong?

About obnoxious Western people in the Far East

And the racist media, that drives the stereotypes

I found this short video on YouTube of a bunch of young Americans (or were they Canadians?) taking the subway in Japan (most probably in Tokyo) and being noisy, pestering people around them and talking nonsense. Sorry to say to my American friends, but your reputation in East Asia is not good, especially in South Korea and parts of Japan (due to heavy military presence), China (political issues) and Taiwan (young expatriates). And Canadians are slowly catching up, because of some people who come to work as English teachers and get drunk one too many times or even get involved in fights or generally disrespect the local culture and women. And behavior like seen in the video doesn't help to improve the bad image, does it? Even, if you're just a visitor, a tourist, it doesn't give you the right to behave the way you do at home. But I guess some people just don't care. And then things like this happen and I'm not surprised at all.

Of course on the other side, there's also a lot of nationalism or racism in East Asian countries as well. Sometimes all foreigners from the West are lumped together and seen as "bad, arrogant, aloof, criminals, having no morals, disregarding the local culture etc." And it's not only driven by common people, but mostly by the media. It's a vicious circle and that's certainly not good for both sides. Europeans are still lucky, but that's because we're less known. We weren't really engaged in East Asia a lot in the past 50 years, be it militarily or as expatriate language teachers, like the current flock of young people, who most often come from USA, Canada and Australia. And believe me, we have some pretty obnoxious people in Europe, too.

With all that said, let me stress, that I do not believe (or try to imply here) that the majority of Americans and Canadians, who go to Asia, behave in a bad way (or that Europeans are better than them). I'm just talking about the stereotypes. Those who behave bad are in a big minority. And of course the media will rather drive (or blow up) the the story of a drunk foreign English teacher involved in a brawl rather than tell the stories of hundreds of polite foreigners, who respect the locals, speak their language and blend in perfectly. The media in the Far East, especially in South Korea, is constantly implying "that foreigners were going out there with the intent to make trouble..." (Metropolitician, 2008, Tips To Avoid Being Assaulted in Korea). Media making up or distorting a story about foreigners in East Asia is not a new thing and we (the foreigners) need to be very careful not to give them unneccessary material. And another thing I need to add: The White Westerners have it much easier in the Far East than those foreigners of African descent. I'm fully aware of that while writing this, but that's a whole 'nother topic. You can read more about that here.

When I'm in Asia, I try my best to represent my culture and my country well. I usually say I'm Slovenian or European (or both), depends on the situation. Sometimes I'm too tired to explain where Slovenia is, so I just say I'm from Europe. It's funny how people almost by default assume I was American. And if you read the paragraphs above, being seen as American in Asia is not always good. On the other hand, my girlfriend says I totally look "European" on the outside (whatever "looking European" is), and dress and behave like one (?). I wonder, what makes us Europeans so different from North Americans on the outside. Any ideas?

I must say, it's not only the bad reputation of Canadians and Americans in East Asia, that makes me stress my Slovenian and European heritage, but it's the pride of being who I am and where I come from and the fact, that we're still different, even though we're all Westerners. Even Americans and Canadians are different and don't want to be seen as same (even though they many times are seen as same). In the end, I hope people would be seen as the individuals they are and without prejudice or stereotypes, that are attached to the group they belong. Of course, that's wishful thinking, because foreigners face prejudice everywhere, in East Asia, in North America and also in Europe. That's why the struggle goes on. We'll need decades to really get to know each other well. But will we really get along and respect each other? I'm positive and I'll say eventually we will.

  • What do you think about the people in the video?
  • What are your thoughts on all the issues I pointed out?

Now Americans know where Slovenia is

"Slovenia map" and "Where is Slovenia" topped Google search after yesterday's game

If you watched yesterday's soccer game between Slovenia and USA, you probably watched one of the best games of the tournament so far. Slovenia tied with USA 2:2 and played better than the American team throughout most parts of the game and probably surprising a lot of American viewers, who watched the game at home and didn't even know, where Slovenia is. Right after the game, "slovenia map" was one of the most searched phrases on Google USA, along with "where is Slovenia" and "location Slovenia". I remember that before the match, some American netizens teased us with Where is Slovenia, but after the game, the joke became a serious matter. One thing is for sure: Much more Americans now know where Slovenia is and I hope they will remember it well. This World Cup is really the best promotion we ever had for our small country. Hats down to our guys.

Update: Apparently some English need more lessons. Check this: Slovakian flag on Dailymail

Slovenia - USA 2:2, World Cup

This wasn't a match, it was a battle!

Handanović defending the Slovenian goal [Photo by David Gray, REUTERS][Source]

Anyone watched the game between Slovenia and USA at the World Cup today? Oh boy, that was not a game, that was a battle. Our Slovenian commentator has jokingly said: "Americans are wrestling on the pitch." Oh man, they really did. One thing is for sure, USA have a great team, a team that never gives up. Hats down to that, USA. But sometimes your wish to beat us overwhelmed you and you played a bit unfair by pushing and punching some of our players and made the game a bit too rough. Our boys had to push back. That was a bit disappointing to me.

But all in all, it was a great game. It was like a movie: There was suspense, action and drama... It was like a thriller for me. Slovenia was leading 2:0 and our commentator was to quick to talk about a victory, when USA came back, tied at 2:2 and even scored a 3:2, which was nullified by the referee from Mali, Mr. Koman Coulibaly, who btw did a terrible job. US team should've gotten much more yellow cards, on the other hand, he did nullify that possible winning goal for them... Well, it truly was a crazy game. An amazing game! Especially, if you put the things into perspective: Small Slovenia with its 2 million people played 2:2 against the superpower USA with its 310 million people. That's what we now hear in Slovenia from our commentators. I'm just a tiny bit disappointed, that we didn't win at the end, but we've really come far. We're first in our group, a group with USA and England! Isn't that incredible? Compare that to France, Italy, Spain, Portugal... This year anything is possible for any of the teams.

My girlfriend painted her nails with the Slovenian team's colors.

Ain't she cute? Yes, she is. Keep in mind, she's Taiwanese, not Slovenian. I think she did a great job and may she bring good luck to the Slovenian team :-)

It was funny to read reactions on Twitter. Americans are going crazy, I guess the finally got some passion for soccer. Slovenia is a popular trending topic now. Let me show you some funny tweets I found today:

@BluesChronicle People all over #USA are now looking up #Svn in their atlases, trying to work out whether it is a country worth invading.

@klemenj and you play like ones. #svn #usa RT @brittglynn Slovenia celebrates like girls...

@andrewgooding In a historic first, FIFA referee Koman Coulibaly accepted today's Man of the Match award for his defensive efforts for the Slovenia squad.

@SokhonSen RT @MaksimC: WOW!!! The WORST officiating at USA/Slovenia game!!! Don't know about you all, but I say USA won 3-2!!! #badcall

@robmitchum The only bright side of today is that the #usa is finally a mature enough soccer nation to be fucked by a ref in the #worldcup.

@JKxZ I think Koman Coulibaly should be punished by sitting in room and Team #USA gets to blow Vuvuzela's right in his face until he goes deaf.

@boland they only reason they took that goal away from team #USA is cause they hate us for our freedoms. #ripoff #worldcup

@billybragg USA continue their winning streak with a brilliant 2-2 victory over Slovenia.

Some tweets are quite funny, hehe. Americans are so angry at the referee, that they even modified his Wikipedia page, even wrote that he hates America. Lol. The page has been changed meanwhile. And that's what you could see on the Huffington Post's homepage after the game:

[click photo to enlarge]

I can understand your anger, Americans. It wasn't clear to me, why he blew the whistle there, but he did so... And you have to admit, you played rough and pushed a lot. It's time to get over it. Do you know how many times Slovenia got screwed by referees in the past? Too many times. I guess you finally embraced soccer as one of your national sports. Guess what? Bad referees are part of it. I think 2:2 was fair at the end. Great game. One of the best so far at this World Cup.

What do you think?

[A Slovenian netizen made that Statue of Liberty pic. I think it's cool. No offence.]

NY Times columnist apologizes to Slovenians, because our netizens went haywire

You know, my country, Slovenia, is a very small country. It's a kind of a European Singapore, a bit bigger in size, but a little less people live than in the actual Singapore. We have like 2 million people. That's like a small city in China, btw. Nevertheless, our online community is big and... loud. Wherever someone will write about Slovenia, our netizens will find out and it will be reposted in blogs (same way I do now). So today I read in our online newspaper about a column in the New York Times, where Nicholas Kristof, one of their columnists, who recently wrote a lot about the current state of the American healthcare system, apologized to Slovenia, because he made too many comparisons with Slovenia and apparently our netizens went haywire and complained a lot. Here's what he wrote:

Now I don't really know, if he was sincerely serious (it sounds more like sarcastic), but it does lead me to one question: Are my fellow netizens crazy!? I mean, that's just beyond crazy. And it happens all the time. Wherever Slovenia is mentioned, there will be at least one of our netizens complaining about it. I kinda see this attitude a lot in Singapore, too (hence my comparison). But to put things into perspective, Korean and Chinese netizens are far worse, because they're even more sensitive and there's like millions of them. Stuff that happens there is scary. So my question is:

How are netizens in your country and are you sometimes ashamed of them?

Obama won the Nobel peace prize!

This was just wow! Barack Obama won the Nobel peace prize 2009! I happened to watch it live on TV, when they announced it and I pride myself as being the first who broke the news on Twitter (I'm so FOM, I know, hehe). Anyway, the initial reactions on Twitter were funny, like: "What did he do???" Duh! Imagine Sarah Palin near the Oval office? Ok, joking aside, let's see some tweets:

  • PepeEdwardson WTH! US President Obama received Nobel Peace Prize???? No year in oval office and....? Whtas Wrong Sweden!?
  • Syler_mi4 #Obama is first US President to win a nobel prize while still in office. not to mention that he hasnt completed a year in office.
  • Karmapriya U.S. President Obama has won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize for extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy.
  • karr1 Why O Why did we give #Obama a #Nobel price? He hasn't done anything special yet, has he?
  • kimbabim Obama just won the Nobel peace prize? Wow. Crazy. Didn't expect that at all. Isn't that a little early? #obama #nobelprize
  • mainewolfie CNN Breaking news - President Obama has won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize. FOR DOING WHAT??

My point of view:
First of all, who cares why? Seriously. It's not Obama's "fault" to get this award. If you have complaints, send them via Oslo. If I was American, I would be proud. I mean, it won't hurt your country, will it? It can only make your image abroad better. You were pretty much hated by all over the world during Bush's 2 terms. Plus this award may be like a reminder for Obama to keep his promises and end wars and don't start new wars and to engage in peace efforts in Israel, Darfur and elsewhere in the world. It's a good signal. But I can imagine the rightwingers freaking out and finding new ways to mock Obama.

Anyway, congratulations mr. President and congratulations USA.

Guest Blogger: George W. Bush

Hello fellow friends and readers of My Kafkaesque Life. It's the ex prezident the of USA, George W. Bush, hehe. I am writing instead of MKL today. Thank you, MKL, for giving me the chance to be the 2nd guest blogger on your respectful site, hehe.

I want to talk about current events around the world and my personal life in the past week. I went to the sawna with my best buddy John McCain, hehe. Check the photo here. Some people there were really buffled. They thought we're like BFF, because we got along so well. He told me that when he looks in the mirrow, he sees my face. We're like brothers. I like him, he's a funny guy. His demeaning jokes about women crack me up, hehe. Anyway, besides the sawna with Mac, I've been pretty busy. I went to the circus with my dad. I loved the monkey, hehe. Dad bought me a lolly pop (I won't tell you the flavour, but it was definitely a sugar overdose, hehe).
Yesterday I went to the movies with my wife Laura. We watched 'Hangover'. It really cracked me up. I thought I'm watching the old me from 20 years ago. but Laura didn't like it. She frowned the whole way back home and pulled my ear and scolded me. That damn dry pretzel (pardon my French) got me choking while I was laughing, so people complained behind me. What could I do? It was hilarious!
Since I used to be a politishan, MKL asked me to tell you something about the current political situation. Well, I don't know, if I wanna get sick in the future, since our hospitals will be socialized. I'm for small government. I only give money to big business. The money should trickle down to the rest. It worked until the system collapsed. I still don't know why it happened. I must ask Dick, he's smart. He has "the brains for mass destruction", hehe. And his riffle is no joke (no pun intended).
While I'm writing this, I'm trying to find prezident Obama's birth sertificate on Google. I don't know what to think, even if the republican governor of Hawaii says it's a valid Hawaii state birth sertificate, you know, republicans lie! So, I don't really know what to believe. But I've just retired recently and I'm writing my memoirs and watching reruns of Golden Girls. So I don't have the time to speculate about these matters, I let others decide. I'm not the decider anymore.
Oh, I'm feeling great today! Thank you MKL for this opportunity to write a little something on your well-respected blog.

And thank you, dear readers of MKL. I may write a regular column on this blog from now on.

43rd Prezident of USA, George W. Bush

[NOTE by MKL: I don't think so.]

Birther jokes are funny, because Birthers are stupid.

Do you wanna hear some funny Birther jokes? [What is a Birther?] I have a small collection on my blog. You can read them in this post: Dear white fundamentalist Americans. The jokes are below the video. I'm writing this post, because a real Birther commented on my blog, you can read his comment here. And he didn't disappoint me. I expected him to be dumb, racist and angry. And guess what? He was! :) I'm really honored that my blog was visited by the dumbest of our kind. Initially I thought that Birthers can't be true. These people are made up, so that the liberals have some material for jokes. Oops. I was proven wrong. They exist and they are very angry and damn serious. I can really just laugh about these people, but I do hope that the US secret service lives up to its task, because the danger is real. Someone as stupid as a Birther can be really dangerous. Let's hope that they'll only be 'taken seriously' in jokes :)

Barack Obama, best president since FDR. We want change.

Bill Clinton met with Kim Jong-il

My blog recieved this exclusive photo of Bill Clinton, who visited North Korea today. He met with Kim Jong-il, the dear leader, as this photo shows (sent by a friend from Pyongyang). The two statesmen discussed various issues, from diets to women to American beef. Apparently Kim Jong-il rejected the import of American beef, because he feared riots on the streets of Pyongyang. Apart from these differences, the two wise men got along very well. It is rumoured, that Kim Jong-il will be on the guest list of Bill's barbecue party in Arkansas, that is set for September. The tensions between the two military superpowers seem to be easing up.

Let's hope Laura and Euna can return home safely!

Sex with a horse? Are you nuts?

Disclaimer: I may curse. Sorry.

Where the fuck is this world going? Seriously! Are you kidding me? Nothing makes sense anymore! It's getting weirder and sicker. I better avoid watching news at all. I'm cocooning today and the next years. I need a fliter for internet to just filter out this mad sick world we're living in. I only want good news. I want to read about sane people. Because this made me sick:

  • Lubna Hussein from Sudan, who was arrested July 3 for wearing pants and is now standing trial, openly defied the court by wearing the very same outfit to trial that she was arrested for. (source) [Lubna is my new hero!]

  • A South Carolina man was charged with having sex with a horse after the animal's owner caught the act on videotape, then staked out the stable and caught him at shotgun point. But this wasn't the first time the man has been charged with buggery: He pleaded guilty last year to having sex with the same horse after owner Barbara Kenley found him in the same stable and was sentenced to probation and placed on the state's sex offender list. (source) [Sick bastard! OMG! Sick bastard!]

  • The conservative TV host Glenn Beck said that President Barack Obama had "over and over again" shown himself to be "a guy who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture," later adding, "I'm not saying he doesn't like white people, I'm saying he has a problem ... This guy is, I believe, a racist." (source) [A white supremacist calls Obama racist. LOL.]

  • A woman in Texas killed her own baby and ate parts of his brain. The scene was so gruesome investigators could barely speak: A 3½-week-old boy lay dismembered in the bedroom of a single-story house, three of his tiny toes chewed off, his face torn away, his head severed and his brains ripped out. When police entered, the woman screamed: "I killed my baby! I killed my baby!". She told officers the devil made her do it, police said. (source) [This is just so sick, I am speechless!]

I can't be sick all the time. I need to survive and I need to find a reason that my existence makes sense. At least some sense. Because sometimes it's just so fucked up that I don't have the willpower and the phisical strength to bear another day. I'd just like to vanish and say: "That's all, folks. I'm out. Bye."

How about you? Do you have the same feeling sometimes? Spew out your anger with me!

A cowardly soldier and alien Obama

As you may have heard, some people in America, who hate Obama, want to prove that he's not a natural-born citizen of USA and therefore he's not elegible to be the president of the United States. They have whole websites dedicated to trash him just because he's not white black and because of his 'Hussein' middle name. For white supremacists and racists a black American president named Hussein must be like the fall of Babylon. They think stuff like this is funny [Their god must be cracking up].

Obama was born in Hawaii, Hawaii is part of USA (ask Rowena). The law is clear: If you're born on US soil, you are a natural-born citizen of America, regardless of your parents citizenship [check this article]. I like this law, I consider flying to USA on vacation when my wife will be almost due to give birth :).

Well, those Obama-haters (or shall I say nutcases) then go on saying his birth certificate was altered, forged or whatever. Anyway, no court has taken these people really seriously and they have no proof because there is none. But they have a lot of time and they have a lot of hate. How about they spend it on the research of the US presidential election of 2000 and George Bush and his issues with the law? Oh, that's history and it wouldn't bother them anyway.

Then I read this article on HuffPost and one comment really cracked me up. It's about a soldier who refused to be deployed to Afghanistan because (he believes) Barack Obama was never eligible to be president because of that birth-certificate thingy. Funny, huh? Some people called him coward, but one guy was really funny. Here's his take on this:

Comment by Gover: I am also a soldier and it is my belief that Barack Obama is not a human being. I believe that he is an alien and I would be following illegal orders if I were to deploy to Afghanistan by order of an extraterrestrial imposter.
I will happily return to service if I can personally anally probe Barack Obama. Only deep, lengthy examination of the colon can satisfy my skepticism and therefore Obama must comply with my demands.

One guy replied and it cracked me up, too, haha...

@Gover by cimbri: You don't need to investigate since your head is already up his colon.

I can just laugh about this nonsense. It's always amusing when libs and neocons clash. So far, the libs were funnier, but I guess the neocons will catch up, because the current president is making them go nuts. And I couldn't be happier about this fact.

Megan Fox about white trash

Have you heard the most recent comments from Megan Fox? I mean, this woman really amazes me everytime she says something. Here's what she said for the UK magazine Total Film. She was asked a theoretical question relating to the movie Transformers about what she would say to Megatron to keep him from destroying the world. She replied:

“I think I would make a deal with him. I'd barter with him and say instead of the entire planet, can you just take out all of the white trash, hillbilly, anti-gay, super bible-beating people in middle-America?” [...] “I'll give Megatron middle-America and let's call it even!”

[source]

Of course there's like tons of blogs and forums talking about these remarks and complaining (+misquoting her). Why? Why do you complain? First of all, it's not a serious question! It will never happen. Secondly, she just implyed that she doesn't like these groups of people. Well, I don't like them, too. And many many more people don't like them as well. If you're offended by this, than you have issues with your own identity or beliefs. I don't mind if someone makes jokes about atheists. So what? I've also read that many people said they won't go to her movies. As if she cares. In the same magazine, she told the people who said Transformers 2 is a bad movie:

“If you don't wanna see it, then don't fucking go and pay for it. Stay home!”

You just have to love Megan Fox and the things she says. She just always nails it. Yea, she's having a foul mouth (loves that work 'fuck'), but I guess she just does that because America censors these words and she just doesn't care about PC and fake politeness. I guess she speaks the way other 'polished' actors speak privately. I appreciate her bluntness, but she's never trashy. Her jokes are very intelligent and she has good points. I guess American Christians will bash her, hate her, but she'll be the new icon for libs and won't be only popular, because she's hot, but also because she says the things many don't dare to say like that.

I just love Megan Fox.

Two standards and two choices

Watched CNN's Wolf Blitzer having an interview with the ambassador of Syria to the USA, Imad Moustapha. He was asked about the Iran election, the protests and killings. Of course Iran and Syria have very good relations like USA and Israel.

Wolf Blitzer asked him if he condemns the killings and if now the relations between Syria and Iran would change, but the ambassador was evasive and turned the question to Wolf by asking, how come that Israel could kill more than 1000 people in Gaza and the US relations with Israel did not change? How come the Western media was being so focused on these events in Iran, but when Israel killed so many Palestinians during the Gaza War in 2008, that was not the case?

Well, that made me think. Does our media have double standards? Of course it does! And not only ours, it's every media. We could also say why the Syrian media extensively reports about Palestinian casualties and condemns Isreal, but does not focus as much on the killings of Iranians by their own regime. Double standards? I guess so. This has multiple reasons and I don't want to go into all that, because it could be a whole new post. Let's view the whole thing from another point.

I think we just don't buy everything the media says these days. That's why the internet became so big and more important than the TV in recent years (TV is dead.) We choose the source of our news, we read tweets and blogs to make up our minds. So, the ambassador was right about the media's double standard. But I guess he meant the old media, the news channels and news papers, who are mostly biased and unbalanced. I'm far from claiming netizens, and especially bloggers are journalists, but we do tell our opinion and we debate and we affect readers far more than the old media (at least that's my impression). That's people who put some effort in their blogging.

Suddenly everyone has something to say and to share. We are no more mere viewers. We are engaged. Besides blogs, we have forums, Facebook, Twitter, You-Tube and Wikipedia, sources where we can check, if someone is trying to sell us bullshit. And the mainstream media realized that and now they have i-reports, they're reading tweets and showing You-tube videos. They are totally clueless about how another universe (online) is thriving, while their profession is losing it's quality and influence. They are struggling to survive and unless they become more balanced and less biased and sensational, they will lose this battle. The future of the news is the internet.

Michael Jackson was the King!

Check this photo from 1984, the King of Pop visiting the White house with Ronald Reagan! Can you imagine any other superstar dress up like that when meeting the president of the United States?? Impossible. He was exceptional! He was the King. Only he could dress up like that and not be ridiculed or looked down on. That's huge! Nobody will ever top that. He was a musical genius like Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, McCartney and Lennon. He was just one of a kind. And I bet he was doing a moonwalk in the White House. Because he was The King!

[Photo source: Wikipedia, Michael Jackson getting an award for his charity work by the president. Jackson could also be labelled as King of charity.]

Has Michael Jackson ended the Iranian uprising?

So, there we go. Unfortunately, I was right. My theory about the Iranian post-election protests was, that the regime will harden, tighten the security, put more police and military on the streets and sooner or later, there will be something else in the news. And now, Michael Jackson is dead: Who's following the Iran protests now? The momentum is lost, the media has now diverted it's focus and we will get less and less information out of Iran. Soon there will be summer holidays, we will all forget Iran and Michael Jackson and go to the sea side or pools, swimming and barbecueing and enjoying life. That's human nature! Nobody can convince me otherwise.

As I said many many times, if people in Iran, who want change, don't grab guns and start shooting back at those bastards in the riot police and defend themselves with equal means, nothing will change. Be real. Nothing will change and you know it. This brutal regime survived 30 years, you can bet it has means and measures to sustain itself. Peaceful protests won't do anything, the regime doesn't understand peace, it's ruthless and hateful. Stone throwing won't help either. You need to give the regime what it exports to other countries: Suicide bombers, martyrs, mujahedin. Give them a taste of their own medicine. Turn Tehran into Bagdad and they will see, if they still have that smirk on the face like they used to have, when USA couldn't secure Iraq.

But I guess all that won't happen. Now the media will only focus on Michael Jackson, they will go through all his ups and downs, scandals and medical conditions. Many celebs will share their opinions, even Barack Obama will be expected to say something. There will be a funeral, there will be non-stop reporting for at least 2-3 weeks. What will LaToya say? What will Janet say? What will Liz Taylor say? There's so much to come. It's a big shocker and of course Michael Jackson deserves the attention. He was one of the last big superstars, probably THE last superstar (Madonna is nothing comparing to him). So, it's understandable... But quite bad for Iranians. Bad timing, but as I said, even if Iran was the number 1 topic in the media, it still wouldn't make any difference.

Michael Jackson dead! Unbelievable.

One of the best artists of all times, Michael Jackson, died! Unbelievable and shocking news. I was watching CNN, when I heard he's been sent to hospital. Then they announced he was in a coma. And suddenly I see on Twitter: Michael Jackson RIP on top of Trending Topics. I complained, because CNN said he's not dead. Then they announced it, too: King of pop is dead. Wow... Twitter was constantly over capacity, Wikipedia has problems. People flock in masses to that hospital in L.A. I mean, it all came so out of the blue! What a year. People die like it's Judgement day or something.
Well, he was King of pop! I've been very young, when Thriller came out, but throughout the eighties, they played it over and over. But I remember when Bad came out. I was 8 years old, but that Bad video was unbelievable. The way he danced and dressed up was so unique, you just couldn't be not impressed. And then the moonwalking. Tell me someone who did not try to moonwalk? He was just so unique, he could never be copied or surpassed by any other pop artist. Thriller will always remain the best selling album of all times, especially because people are buying albums less and less. My favourite Michael Jackson songs are: Billie Jean, Beat It, Bad, Smooth Criminal, We Are The World, Wanna Be Startin' Something, Man In The Mirror, Black Or White, Who Is It, Jam, Remember The Time, Say Say Say... OMG, it's like every of his 3 top albums (Thriller, Bad and Dangerous) is like all songs were hits! Sadly his downturn started after Dangerous. History was not bad, had many hits, but I felt it's just not as good as the stuff before. I really lost my words now... He was really such a great artist since his childhood. A genious. And all people can be proud of him, not only blacks, who are probably particularly proud.

Thank you, Michael Jackson, you will remain King of Pop forever.

Rest in peace.

Support Iranian people! Obama, speak out!

How? How can I support Iranian people? I mean, we knew how bad it was there for years, for decades! These protests are not a shock for the rest of the world. Sooner or later every surpressed people protest and fight for freedom and justice. But what can I do? My words won't change anything. And Obama's words won't change anything, too! As if those retarded mullahs will listen to me or to Obama or to anyone else! These people are nuts! So stop harrassing me and Obama with your calls for "a tougher stance" against the Iranian regime. George Bush tried that tactic and it only strenghtened the regime. Unless USA wants to start another "liberating" war, nothing will change! Iranians can only help themselves. America is broke and I'm sure even if it was filled with money, Obama still wouldn't start a war to liberate the Iranian people. He's got the brains! And how phony: The whole world always blames USA for MEDDLING into other countries' affairs! Now that Obama DOES NOT want to meddle, the world COMPLAINS again. Seems like whatever USA does, it's not right. I think Obama is doing great! Whatever will happen later, let's say in a month, in half a year, he will have to deal with that regime, wheather he likes it or not. He clearly wanted to change the policies towards islamic countries and if you demand of him condemning the Iranian regime, then demand from him condemning the regime of Saudi Arabia, that surpresses women like the nazis surpressed Jews. But no, Saudi Arabia is Americas oil-buddy... I mean ally. Whatever. Words don't matter! Try to talk some sense into Ali "the Grand Smurf" Khamenei or Kim Jong-effing-il. These rogue regimes only understand crude force! Talking to them or threatening with UN resolutions is like talking to walls or slapping yourself with a dead carp. That's why I decided I've said enough already and I'm really sick of everything regarding these countries. I need a break from them. It won't be easy, because they won't let me rest - they're in the news every day! But I need to stop them bothering me. It's giving me Spock-ears!

Obama can't do everything! He can't fix Iran!

I'm sick of those petty criticisms of Obama, coming from the left and right. He can't do everything! He can't please everbody. It seems like whatever he does, he get criticised for it. Either he does too much at the same time or too little. I know that criticism applied to Bush, too. But not in his first year, much later after Iraq became a big blunder. It's understandable that people are frustrated these days. We're living in some pretty dark times. Obama was seen as a kind of messiah, who will snap his fingers and the whole recession will go away. But in the end, he's just human. He's placed in a rigid system, where he only has small room to do something he's proposed last year. He must overcome all the obstacles at home and abroad, deal with a world that's partly in shambles. He fixed a lot, he will fix a lot, but he can't fix everything. And the latest petty criticism comes from people who want him to do more or say more on the Iranian election and events after. Why? Should he give a fiery speech like George Bush would do, talking about axis of evil and urging the regime to give the power to the people? If he does so, the regime will use it to fire up the nationalists, who support Ahmadinejad and they'll repeat that America is behind everything, America wants to put Iran in shambles... It's much more smart to be cautious and let the events unfold without meddling. What could America do anyway? Start another war? Impossible. So there's two options left: Be pragmatic and stay in the background, let Iranians solve the issues with their government or try to interfere, give strong speeches, threaten with sanctions. Well, I think he's doing great so far. I rather see him not go out there up front and start another conflict. And ain't it funny, if he doesn't do it, there's nobody else who would wanna play a 'George Bush'. You have the French president, the British prime minister or German chancellor - they are all quiet and observing the events in Iran to unfold! Is that the new pragmatism? Or just a normal common sense? I don't know for sure, but what I do know is, we have enough conflicts in this world and the West can't solve all of them. Middle East, Afganistan, Pakistan, China, Korea, Burma, Darfur, Kongo - we're living with these problems and we'll have to live with them for a long time and the US president won't be able to solve them, the West won't be able to solve them - the people there will have to solve it themselves.

North Korea launches nuclear missiles

And what are we hearing from the media and politicians?

Harsh words - denouncing - threat to stability - warnings - concerns - act of defiance - options - latest development - Pyongyang - Chinese propose dialogue and negotiations - 6 party talks - framework - UN Security council - tougher resolutions - frustrations - sanctions - influence NK behind the scenes - strong statements - offering - commitment - reciprocate with commitment - action from United States - what can we do? - stern action - special crisis task force to deal with the threat - new diplomatic push - what happens now? - dilemma - statement from the White House - the data - blatant - grave concern - recklessly challenging the international community - Brown condemned the test - isolation - analysis - security breach at Buckingham palace.

IT'S JUST WORDS WORDS WORDS!
NOTHING BUT WORDS!

As usually, nothing will happen! No action, no change! A big fuss for nothing. And the old evil Kim will laugh today, when he'll take a crap and read the newspaper reports on the international reaction to his missile test. He's mocking the whole world and noone does anything. G8: You're pathetic!
