"Dream Heaven" AV shop, Banqiao

Imagine this image in USA

Av shop
This is a photo of a Japanese porn AV shop in Banqiao named "Dream Heaven", located near Nanya Night Market. And nearby is a small playground full of children and parents playing around. The boys in the photo are playing some video games very close to the shop. Imagine something like that in America? Is it possible?

Taiwanese are obsessed with smartphones

This is an image you can see in Taipei every day: People standing still and completely losing themselves in their smartphone universe. Apple's iPhone is so popular here, it looks like everybody's having it. And Nokia, Samsung, BlackBerry and HTC are not lacking behind a lot. I do plan to get me an iPhone, too. It's not yet 100% confirmed though, but I'm very strongly leaning to one. So I guess you'll be seeing me standing like these two beautiful statues girls. In case I become like them, tap me on the back and wake me up, I will be grateful to you.

Do you lose yourself in your smartphone?

Cosplay in Taipei, 2010

Check my girlfriend's photos

Ok, I have to admit that she probably isn't an MKL fan. I used a team of very skilled photoshoppers to put that logo in there. Doesn't she look cool? :-)

In case you're interested in cosplay, check my girlfriend's awesome photos. She went to a recent gathering of cosplayers in Taipei and took plenty of pics. The cosplay subculture is in recent years very popular in Taiwan and the Taiwanese teens are as good as Japanese, when it comes to dress up like their favorite manga characters. You can also see what the girl above really held in her hand. Have fun browsing pics. More here:

The hottest World Cup girl 2010

Vote for your favorite World Cup girl

This year's FIFA World Cup was the biggest event of the year. And just like on any event of such magnitude, the World Cup brought us amazing images to our living rooms, images we will never forget. It weren't only the games, that got all the attention, there was so much going on around them. And there was one thing that stood out this year: The beautiful women. I don't remember, if we ever had so many hot WAGs, celebrities, models or just cute female fans supporting national football teams or individual players.

I chose 5 women, who really stood out for me, be it for the publicity and attention they got from the media or online or simply for their outstanding beauty or hotness. See the girls below and vote on the poll, so we see who will become MKL's hottest World Cup girl 2010.

1. Sarah Brandner, Germany

Photo sources: [Photo 1][See more photos of Sarah Brandner>>]

Sarah Brandner (born 1988, biography) is a German model and current girlfriend of the German national football player Bastian Schweinsteiger, (born 1984). With her striking 181 centimeters and blonde long hair, she stands out as one of Germany's hottest WAGs. Many people say Schweinsteiger is a lucky man and probably punching way above his weight with her.

2. Sara Carbonero, Spain

Photo sources: [Photo 1, Photo 2][See more photos of Sara Carbonero>>]

Sara Carbonero (born 1984, biography) is a Spanish TV presenter and journalist and current girlfriend of the current Spanish national goal keeper Iker Casillas (born 1981). Sara was a reporter at the World Cup and caught a lot of attention, not only because she's Casillas's girlfriend, but because of her amazing beauty and her especially beautiful eyes. A year before, she was voted Sexiest Reporter in the World by FHM USA. And after Spain won the World Cup, Iker and she gave us one of the most romantic moments in sport history (see video here).

3. Larissa Riquelme, Paraguay

Larissa Riquelme (born 1985, biography) is a model and an actress from Paraguay. She rose to fame during the World Cup by placing her cellphone between her breasts (which some sources say was a publicity stunt), while cheering for the national team of Paraguay. When Paraguay faced Spain in the quarter finals, she offered to run naked through the capital Asunción, in case Paraguay beats Spain and moves on to the semi finals. That did not happen, but she still did a nude photo shoot, you can see the photos here (NSFW!). She's 170cm tall and curvy (duh!).

4. Yolanthe Cabau van Kasbergen, Netherlands

Photo sources: [Photo 1, Photo 2][More photos of Yolanthe here>>]

Yolanthe Cabau van Kasbergen (born 1985, biography) is a half Dutch/half Spanish soap actress, TV presenter and a model. She is the wife of the Dutch national football player Wesley Snijder. She was voted Sexiest Babe of the Year in 2006, 2007 and 2009 by FHM Holland. It's no wonder, that Wesley turned a Catholic for her, before they married. I mean look at her, who wouldn't? With her 176 centimeters, she's taller than him (he's 1.70m) and definitely one sweet eye candy.

5. Unknown Korean fan, South Korea
This girl from South Korea caught my attention, because she really stood out among all the other cute fans. I have no idea how old she is or if she's known (if anybody knows her name, let me know), but she's was definitely the hottest fan from Asia at this year's World Cup. My Korean friend Juno told me, that during the World Cup many Korean girls try to get caught by photographers and the media in order to become popular. Well, in this case, she succeeded with me. She got my attention pretty fast. How about you?

Voting is closed by Dec 31st 2010. If you can't vote here, please vote here>>

I must say my personal favorite is Yolanthe Cabau van Kasbergen [bonus] Even though her name is hard to remember (or pronounce), she's for me the hottest woman of them all here and my personal hottest World Cup girl 2010. A very close second place takes Sara Carbonero, who seems to be the most down-to-earth among them all, the best wife material. She's really likable and her eyes are amazing. My number three is the unknown Korean girl, who seems to be the cutest of all the women above. My number four would be Sarah Brandner. She really looks hot on some photos, on some other's she looks pretty normal. But who knows, she might look stunning in real. But still, she's my no 4. And last but not least is Larissa Riquelme. She's sexy, but not really my type.

How did you vote and why?

How is this hairstyle called?

I've seen this way of tying up hair a lot in Asia

How would you call it, if you could name it? Be creative.

The first thing I thought was: Aerials. How about you? ^_^

Slovenia baby for the World Cup 2010

How Chinese websites honored Slovenia at the World Cup 2010

Slovenian flag at the back and a beautiful Chinese model in front.

I found some amazing photos of Chinese models on Sina.com, that launched a World Cup 2010 Beauty Contest, where various beautiful girls pose as models for a certain country that's taking part in this year's Football World Cup in South Africa (...that by the way, starts tmorrow). My home country Slovenia, the smallest country or nation to participate this year, is also represented by her "baby" (宝贝), who poses with a football and the Slovenian national symbols (you can see the coat of arms of Slovenia on her left upper arm). Her name is Du Yan Jia (杜颜嘉), she's a model from Wuhan, 166cm tall, her dimensions are 80/60/84. I did not get her age or more info, but that doesn't matter, just enjoy her photos.

Will Yan Jia bless us with her beauty?

Slovenia is the smallest nation to participate at the World Cup 2010.

Seductive Yan Jia playing cute. Hope she brings good luck to Slovenia.

Yan Jia's sexy look would make many Slovenian guys weak in their knees.

If Slovenia wins the World cup, Yan Jia should be flown in and kiss the real trophy!

[Photo source][Yan Jia's personal blog][Watermark 足球 says football]

On that website, there's an opinion poll and Chinese can vote for their "soccer baby" and currently Greece is first. And guess who's last? Slovenia. Haha.. well, I don't think is Yan Jia's fault, I guess people also vote for a country they know and like and Slovenia must be pretty unknown to Chinese. You can check the poll results here. I tried to vote, but I guess they blocked foreign IPs, so don't even try, if you're not in China.

There are so many gorgeous girls on that website, who once again confirm the notion, that Chinese girls are one of the most beautiful in the world, as some people say. Sure, beauty is relative, but I'm sure those soccer girls won't leave you unimpressed.

Then there's another Chinese website called Fengniao.com, who did something similar. The only difference is, that they airbrushed their models, you can see that here. I've found the model, who posed in Slovenian national symbols (click on the photo to enlarge). The model has the Slovenian national symbol Triglav (our highest mountain) airbrushed on her chest. The green is the main color of our national football uniforms. If you ask me, the model, as well as the whole "outfit" look great. What do you think?

What do you think about the whole idea? Who's your favorite model?
Is it offensive to use national symbols in such manner or is it ok, or even cool?

Trip to Kaohsiung: Zhongshan road

This is what we saw on one of Kaohsiung's main avenues

Our Kaohsiung Tour 2010 started at the main railway station and continued along the very long Zhongshan road, one of Kaohsiung's avenues. It took us nearly 2 hours (together with a breakfast break) to arrive at the famous Tuntex Sky Tower, where we decided to take a break and have some coffee and cake in a small café. It was a great walk, because we started at 6am, when the weather was very pleasant. And the walking felt great, because we were sitting on a train for 6h. The only problem was a lack of sleep, that train was slow and bumpy. I highly recommend you to pay for the much faster high-speed train, in case you want to go to Kaohsiung from Taipei (will only take around 1.5h).

Let me show you some photos from Kaohsiung in the morning:

The famous Tuntex Sky Tower as seen from the Kaohsiung Railway Station.

The Zhongshan road and Tuntex Sky Tower again.

The old inoperative railway station built during Japanese times and the new one above.

Kaohsiung at around 6am in the morning. Empty, but slowly waking up.

Cisian 1st road. As you can see the roads are long and wide in Kaohsiung.

They sell snake meat here, too. Read my snake blood in Taipei post>>

We didn't eat snake, but chose a stall that sells typical Kaohsiung breakfast.

Pork with rice, oyster soup and an omelette. Simple and yummy.

After our small breakfast pause, we continued to walk along the Zhongshan road:

We went down to see the famous Formosa Boulevard station.

This part of the station was designed by an Italian designer. More about it here>>

A popular night market, empty during the morning.

Taiwanese and their scooters... a love story, hehe. Read more about scooters here>>

Xin Fu-Hwa residential building caught our attention. More info and photos here>>

A temple along the way captured my eyes, while my girlfriend took a rest.

Zhongcheng road, another long avenue.

Ta Lee Plaza Star Place department store, amazing architecture.

A small day market, where old people buy fruits and veggies.

Hanshin Department Store & Grand Hi-Lai Hotel in the back.

Hanshin Department Store & Grand Hi-Lai Hotel close-up, 186m.

And then we finally saw it from close: The famous Tuntex Sky Tower!

But before we started taking photos of the awesome skyscraper, we went into a small café called CROWN & FANCY, where we had a drink and a snack. The place is very cool, I like the layout. At first we were the only two visitors, but then a foreigner and a local girl sat next to us and this guy was talking and talking in Mandarin endlessly, which annoyed me a little.

This cake was delicious. Thank you, baby, for making my Kaohsiung trip so sweet.
