Busta Rhymes was arrested in New York early this morning for drinking and driving after being pulled over for tinted windows.
Rhymes was stopped at about 12:40 a.m. because the SUV he was driving had tinted windows that were too dark, Sgt. Mike Wysokowski said. He said officers then smelled alcohol on the Rhymes' breath.
An arraignment is expected later today.
A lawyer for Rhymes, Scott Leemon, declined to comment.
Rhymes, whose real name is Trevor Smith, has had several law enforcement run-ins since last year.
Rhymes is tentatively scheduled to go to trial on Tuesday for two assault charges. In one case Rhymes is accused him of beating and kicking his former driver after a dispute over pay.
In the other case, Rhymes is charged with assaulting a fan after an Aug. 12 performance.
Rhymes was jailed briefly in February after running a red light and driving with a suspended license.
In November, Rhymes was issued a ticket after driving by a police station while talking on his cell phone.
Police also believe he may be a potential witness in the February 2006 shooting death of his bodyguard.
