Kitty Carlisle Hart Dies at 96

Kitty Carlisle Hart, socialite, actress, government oficial, Broadway performer, game show panelist, and opera singer has died at age 96, her son said Wednesday.

Christopher Hart said his mother contracted pneumonia over the Christmas holidays and had been fighting ever since.

"She passed away peacefully" at home, said Hart. "She had such a wonderful life, and a great long run, it was a blessing."

"I wasn't the prettiest girl you ever saw, I wasn't the finest singer; but with a bit of courage and dash of self- discipline, a small talent can go a long, long way.''
