A slurring, disoriented Paula Abdul was on QVC this weekend, generating more interest in her bizarre on-air antics than her jewelry line.
It's the age old question: What's wrong with Paula Abdul?
There are a few theories as to why Paula often appears to be intoxicated in public.
#1) She's drunk. This seems the obvious choice. Paula displays actions similar to an inibriated person, such as slurring, not finishing complete thoughts and slowed reaction time for example.
#2) She pops pills. Another front runner, and possibly combined with #1.
#3) She has a medical condition in which she has not yet been diagnosed or has not come public with. This is truly another possibility that many overlook. I find it weird that the producers of American Idol would put her out there, 'drunk' and unable to complete sentences even if they are going for ratings. How incredibly low would that be, to exploit someone's illness like that? It would be very low, but certainly reality shows have been known to do worse.

American Idol's Constantine Maroulis on 'The Bold and the Beautiful'
Constantine Maroulis will join the cast of The Bold And The Beautiful beginning Tuesday, May 15 on CBS.
Maroulis will play music producer Constantine Parros, (quite a stretch) who becomes embroiled in the career and life of heiress Phoebe Forrester (Mackenzie Mauzy).He will perform a number of songs from his upcoming solo debut album over the next several months on the show.
Maroulis' solo debut is due out summer 2007.

Alexa Ray Joel, daughter of Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley, is fed up with gossip blogs and most particularly with Perez Hilton.
Alexa ranted on her MySpace about Perez and how he scoffed at her looks. She goes on to say that she is quite comfortable with her looks and is tired of being compared to her supermodel mother. And when it comes to her 8 year old sister - bloggers had better step off.
"Well, I'm rambling now (as always), so I'm going to go unpack (just flew back to NYC tonight!)--I've got to get away from this computer! I know it's ridiculous, and I should have a thicker skin by now and just plain NOT CARE, but I can't help but be a little bummed out because the incredibly cruel, bullying Perez Hilton (this tabloid guy who calls himself the "queen of media") just put up a horrible picture of me on his site and basically in so many words called me ugly, or rather, wrote that I'm "not that bad, actually, I'm just no supermodel"...
I just feel like saying: "YES, my mom and I look completely different, and I'm OK with that. I like that I look unique, or more "exotic"--I don't want to look like everybody else, and I also don't want to look like a supermodel--I just want to look like ME!" (sorry if this sounds like a repeat of my last blog, but I just have to VENT)...
Oh well, I guess that's a part of the crap that comes with the industry--those sites LOVE putting bad pictures up, and everybody has a few unflattering shots--especially on the red-carpet! I'm still not comfortable posing on it, and (who knows?) maybe I never will be, but I'm just so OVER being compared to my mom looks-wise! I'm happy to have a lot of my father's features (especially his eyes and lips)--I think he's very handsome, and I'm quite sick of hearing people call HIM ugly--I think he has a very soulful face--the face of someone with character and integrity--who has LIVED, and has something important to say.
I just can't help but wonder these days: why does the media's idea of beauty have to always fit inside such a conventional box? Why doesn't the media promote any sense of individuality and open-mindedness? My boyfriend always tells me how much he loves my dimples and how I have a "cute over-bite" when I smile, as well as this scar on my chest that I used to be self-conscious about-- he calls it my "sexy mark", (yes--he's a keeper!!)-- so if these imperfections are what our partners end up growing to love so much about us, why isn't this celebrated as a natural, human truth? Why is it hidden, and replaced with this false truth that everybody's supposed to aspire to look like a "supermodel" (whatever looking like a super-model entails--I have no clue). When my mom saw that Perez Hilton thing, she was like, "OK, what's his point?--I have hundreds of bad pictures taken of me, and I'm a supermodel! Should I release them to the media so everyone can see that NOBODY is perfect?" (I love her for that).
It's just rather depressing on a larger, societal level because apparently his tabloid site gets an average of 6 million hits a day (internationally), and I just feel like--WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THIS WORLD? Why would 6 MILLION PEOPLE be on a site that does nothing but exploit, objectify, ridicule, and degrade public figures for no reason? Oh well, I know I shouldn't care--I guess I'm just a bit of an idealist and I wish the media wasn't so shallow and affected. It's like, why do these people get such a high out of bringing others down for no real reason?
I must say, I think this Perez Hilton guy is quite dangerous because has actually made a BUSINESS out of calling people "fat, ugly whores!" Why is this? Is it because the general public has somehow become so obsessed with the media that it is entirely acceptable to trash public figures (and their children) and call them all sorts of names JUST FOR THE HECK OF IT? I mean, there was even some blogger on there picking a part the appearance of my 8 year-old sister--it made me sick to my stomach to see that. She's just a little girl--and she's my adorable, beautiful little sister! I cried my eyes out when I saw that, I was so disgusted.
Sorry, I don't mean to get preachy on you guys--I guess I'm just venting. I also wanted to get all of this out there because I don't think there's a lot of people inside of the media who talk openly about it's artificiality, and really question why this is happening, and I think it's about time we started. Because the media really is in a terrible place right now, and I truly feel like the more tabloid magazines we buy, and the more tabloid sites we blog on, the more we are feeding into this dangerous obsession with the media that is spiraling out of control."

It's being reported that Roseanne Barr may be Rosie O'Donnell's replacement on "The View."
Barr, known for being opinionated and loud, has emerged as the front runner according to the New York Post, though Joan Rivers, Whoopi Goldberg, Kathie Lee Gifford, and Connie Chung are also in the running.
According to a staffer at ABC, "they're missing strong personalities, and that's what they're going to need if they want to keep it going."
Barr's rep said she hadn't been approached.
In related news, Elisabeth Hasselbeck announced today that she's approximately three months pregnant, so she will be off on leave sometime next fall.

Thirteen years after her husbands suicide, Courtney Love says she plans to sell many of Kurt Cobain's belongings in an auction.
“I’m going to have a Christie’s auction. (My house) is like a mausoleum.”
“My daughter doesn’t need to inherit a giant..bag full of flannel shirts. A sweater, a guitar and the lyrics to ‘(Smells Like) Teen Spirit’ — that’s what my daughter gets. And the rest of it we’ll just sell.”
No date has been set for the auction.
“Everyone’s been positive and behind me on it,” she says. “We’ll make a lot of money and give a bunch of it to charity.”
“I still wear his pajamas to bed. How am I ever going to go form another relationship in my lifetime wearing Kurt’s pajamas?”

If you watch 'Celebrity Fit Club' you are probably totally disgusted with Dustin Diamond just like I am.
This has-been child actor had the balls to slam other cast members, questioning their celebrity status like he is some big A-lister. I don't think this jackass realizes that he is a nobody in Hollywood himself.
No wonder none of his castmates liked him.
"I don't hold it against anybody not to like Dustin Diamond," Celebrity Fit Club 5 executive producer Richard Hall told the New York Post about the one-time teenage TV star. "I'm sorry to say that, but it's true. He came in with a very contrarian agenda. He took shots at everybody. He would imitate the other cast members and mock them."
Dustin also went on and on about his sex tape and took the opportunity to tell his castmates that he is 'packing heat'. Then he wondered why no one wanted to listen to what he had to say.

2005 American Idol Finalist Arrested For Battery
Former American Idol contestant Jessica Sierra, 21, was arrested early Sunday morning on felony battery charges after reportedly hitting a man on the head with a heavy glass at a cafe.
The man suffered a cut over his eye and no further information on his injuries are available.According to police, Sierra, 21, was booked in the Hillsborough County Jail on a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. She was also charged with possession of cocaine and introduction of contraband into a correctional facility after she was found to be carrying a small amount of cocaine while being searched.
Sierra was released Sunday afternoon on $11,500 bail.

Mark Burnett and Roma Downey Marry
Mark Burnett producer of Survivor and the The Apprentice wed Roma Downey formerly of Touched By An Angel in a private ceremony at their home in Malibu Saturday afternoon.
Burnett told People Magazine, "It was wonderful to have shared our big day with our family – Roma, myself, our children and our parents. It was so meaningful and so intimate."
The ceremony was officiated by Downey's Angel costar, Della Reese, 75, who is an ordained minister.
Burnett's sons from a previous marriage, James, 13 and Cameron, 10, acted as best man and ring bearer. Downey's daughter from a previous marriage, Reilly, 10, was a bridesmaid.
Downey hired an airplane that flew overhead with a banner that read, "... and they lived happily ever after" as a surprise for Burnett.
The couple had been Malibu neighbors for years and finally started dating in January of 2004. They were engaged last November during a Thanksgiving family vacation in Zihuatenejo, Mexico. They plan a 10-day honeymoon to Jordan and London.

Tracy Morgan to Wear Alcohol Bracelet for 30 Days
"30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan was ordered to wear an ankle bracelet in order to ensure the comedian doesn't drink after receiving a DUI .
A Los Angeles judge ordered Morgan to wear an ankle bracelet that tests for alcohol vapors that come from the skin, according to the entertainment Web site TMZ.com.
The testing will last 90 days and if it shows Morgan has drank alcoholic beverages, he'll have to wear the bracelet another 90 days. A second failure to stay sober will land him in jail for 30 days.
He's due back in court May 25 to be fitted for the ankle device.

Britney Spears Gets Pulled Over, Receives a Warning
Britney Spears was pulled over Friday evening by Beverly Hills police for speeding but was let off with a warning.
Spears was stopped on Sunset Boulevard at 8:45 p.m. "She was pulled over for speeding," Beverly Hills police Sgt. Mike Foxen told People Magazine. "She was warned about her speed and let go. She was not cited."
